WTA TIKANGA (values)
In our club, we believe in building good humans; then great fighters. Training at Warrior Training Academy works from the inside-out. Our tikanga is designed to keep us all safe and create an environment that enables our whānau to be the best versions of themselves.
kotahitanga (unity)
Behave in a way that is mana-enhancing to you, your whānau and your wider fight whānau.
Be a coachable student, that’s what you pay your fees for. It also ensures our coaches can provide their wisdom and knowledge without distraction.
Stay humble and leave your ego at the door. Our collective training experience is far better when you bring your best self to class.
kaitiakitanga (guardianship and protection)
Protect our club by caring for your swipe tag, only using it for yourself and booking all classes.
Our club is a drug and alcohol free-zone, including all in-house events and fight shows.
Tidy up after yourself by putting gear away and leaving the space ready for the next class.
Report any hazards or health and safety issues to hello@warriortrainingacademy.co.nz
manaakitanga (to extend aroha (love and compassion) to others)
Show care and respect for the rights, safety, dignity and worth of others.
Train safely showing care for yourself and others.
Avoid wearing any gang patches or insignia
Train with a spotter when performing high risk movements or using specialist equipment such as weights.
Always remember that the lights stay on in your club because an entire whānau are working together. Say thanks, acknowledge others.
rangatiratanga (self-determination, sovereignty, independence, autonomy)
Show up to class fully ready with the right gear.
Bring a towel to manage your sweat and wipe down your stations at the end of your workout
Remember rest and recovery are part of your training too.
